Problem

 In April 2025, a worried customer alerted our Radius Investigations hotline that their leased Toyota Hilux had been stolen from their private London address. 

Action & Results

The vehicle was fitted with a Radius asset recovery tracker, so as soon as the theft was reported, the investigator was able to access location data through the system, making it easier to track and recover the vehicle. Upon reviewing the data, it became clear that the vehicle was stolen on the previous Saturday and had been taken to Hackney E8, about seven miles southeast of the theft location.  

A Radius Investigator was deployed and arrived at the location just before the tracker's next location alert. The tracker then updated its location to a cul-de-sac just west of the main road, where the vehicle was found parked on the street at the rear of some residential properties. The Investigator reported that the rear nearside quarter window had been smashed to gain entry, and the thieves had searched the interior extensively to locate a tracker but were unsuccessful. 

Conclusion

Thanks to the discreet design and precise location data provided by the Radius asset recovery tracker, the stolen Toyota Hilux was swiftly located and recovered without damage beyond the broken window. The quick response from our Radius Investigations team prevented further loss, highlighting the value of our recovery technology in protecting high-risk vehicles.
