In March 2025, a concerned customer alerted our Radius Investigations Unit that a generator had been stolen from their site in Essex, worth £30k. Upon further investigation, data from the asset tracker suggested it was stolen in August of the previous year.

Action & Results

Luckily, the generator was fitted with a Radius asset recovery tracker, which the thieves had missed. Our Investigations Unit acted promptly and attended the location of the last GPS signal; however, the site was closing for the night, so nothing was retrieved that day.

The following morning, the Investigations Unit regained access to the premises with police attendance. The site consisted of a large area with individual company yards, so the team had a lot of ground to cover.

As soon as the tracking unit went live, they detected signals as they approached a particular unit. The team detected the strongest signals from an on-site container. After a thorough check, they found the stolen generator inside.

Thanks to the specialist equipment carried by our investigator, they had no issues conducting a swift and efficient search. The customer was informed immediately, and the police recovered the generator and returned it the same day.
