Recovery success: Road roller in the West Midlands
With Staffordshire Police, our team recovered a road roller that was stolen whilst on hire, preventing a loss for our customer.

Problem
Late on a Friday afternoon, our Radius Investigations Unit received a call on our 24/7 theft hotline from a customer. A member of the public had spotted one of the customer's road rollers abandoned in a woodland area in the West Midlands. Our customer hired out their machinery and, unfortunately, their hirer hadn't reported the theft, leaving our customer caught off-guard.
Due to how late in the day it was, our customer couldn't recover the roller that day but planned to do so early the next morning. However, when they arrived, they found that the thieves had returned and moved the machine elsewhere.
Action & Results
Luckily, the road roller was fitted with a Radius asset recovery tracker. On receiving the Saturday morning update from our customer, we set the tracker into theft mode and pinpointed its new location. The nearest Radius Investigator was dispatched and, working alongside Staffordshire Police, recovered the machine near Stoke-on-Trent.

Conclusion
This incident really highlights how important it is to equip assets with telematics technology. Being prepared and proactive can make all the difference to saving your business time and money.
