Problem

In February 2025, a worried customer alerted us that their semi-trailer-mounted 1,500kva generator, worth over 400k, had been stolen a month earlier. The equipment had been taken from one of their depots in Derbyshire and had since circulated in Doncaster.

Action & Results

Luckily, the generator had one of our Radius asset recovery trackers attached. As soon as the device went live that day, our Investigations Unit was able to identify its exact location on the map and dispatch the nearest investigator.

Within 35 minutes, our Investigations Unit had triangulated RF signals to an area in Doncaster and were in attendance on site with the Police National Construction and Agricultural Theft Team. The police deployed a drone and quickly identified the generator's location.

Conclusion

Thanks to prompt action and our tracking technology, the stolen generator was located and recovered in under 45 minutes. This case highlights how vital asset tracking can be to running a business, helping to minimise costs and streamline operations.
