The problem 

Land Recovery is a leading company in recycling and waste management, with operations across the UK.

As the business expanded, managing a fleet of 40 HGVs, 50 excavators, and 90 vans became increasingly complex. Steve Hepple, Transport Manager at Land Recovery, explained, "The business has grown exponentially over the last few years, and we needed to develop a way of monitoring the fleet."

The solution 

Radius offered a complete package as part of its Kinesis Pro system, including fleet tracking and cameras that provide real-time monitoring of Land Recovery fleet. "It's like having a remote pair of eyes on the whole fleet," Steve said.

The company also uses fuel cards to simplify fuel management, allowing drivers to refuel from multiple suppliers with using one card provider. "Radius are the ones that came up with the solution where we could have multiple fuel suppliers through one card," Steve added.

Implementation

Radius worked closely with Land Recovery to tailor a solution that fit its needs, from fleet cameras that provide visibility in road traffic incidents, to automated weekly reports for the FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme). Steve praised the ease of use and support from Radius, noting, "Our account manager helped us resolve any issues or answer any queries, and created a weekly report we now get sent via email that supports with our FORS accreditation."

Results  

Land Recovery saw significant improvements in fleet management, safety, and operational efficiency. The cameras have proven invaluable, giving them a real-world view of any incidents. The vehicle and asset tracking solutions help them to track the fleet in real time, giving the team the information they need to make smart operational decisions, be able to respond to customer requirements. Steve commented, "The cameras have been invaluable in terms of road traffic incidents... it's been a very useful tool."

Their use of fuel cards has also streamlined fuel management, providing access to Shell, BP, and UK Fuels through Radius. This flexibility has improved their fleet’s fuel efficiency, making day-to-day operations smoother. "It makes our jobs a lot easier," Steve noted.
